Actually it was in last year September 2024 when I got a flat heading out to a Lowrider show at Antioch.

Today I finished for the most part the Minitruck stereo system installation.

I originally wanted to keep the setup simple. It still is a simple setup but more than I had originally planned to do.

The setup consist of a Sony head unit, coaxial speakers up on the dash, 6” subwoofers inside the door panels, a pair of Pioneer 12” shallow subwoofers and a Pioneer mono block amplifier pushing out 2400 watts.

This system freakin hits hard with the base even without a roof.

Well, at least on at Stockton California Main Street during the 1940 time frame.

It wasn’t until looking at the photo several time later that I noticed the dang AI made the GMC Sonoma into a Chevrolet S10.

I really didn’t notice because the grill Chevy Bow tie is red in color, matching the color of the GMC logo.

I’ve never owned a Minitruck.

The Minitruck already came with an air ride system. Other than the bags, the systems is an old school setup.

I found this ride way up NorCal. It’s been around for a good minute, making its way around the car/truck community.

Since the build is older there is an opportunity to “upgrade”the existing hardware parts with the modern equivalent.

We are heading to C10 Intervention Show at Woodland California. This is a yearly truck event we participate in for fun, no side hustle.

Stopping for ice and gas at the local gas station.

We leave earlier each year. This was the first time we actually got there and parked at Main Street West side. This is the section that has all the vendors and close to the downtown area.

Waiting in line at the West side entrance.

For whatever reason we seem to the primo spots at the show. It may be due to the size of our dually. It needs be in an area where it won’t be blocking through vehicle or pedestrian traffic so we typically will be placed in an open area like a corner spot.

The level of show trucks is high at this show, there are of course trucks like ours that are there to hangout and not to compete. Our truck “CaDually” is a functional ride, we haven’t cut into the bed to allow rear air ride suspension. That’s not to say it won’t happen later but it’s not at this time.

This show is known to be held during the hot season and this year was a scorcher. Due to the black asphalt the temperature is magnified as the day progresses. This is the first year we left early before the real heat kicked in. It was already 100 plus but towards the end it would have gotten much hotter. We bounced.

Finally did a munch needed tail light replacement. We have gone to car shows all over the state including Reno, Nevada.

During our travels it’s inevitable that we will be riding in the dark or during rain fall. I actually jokingly call CaDually the “rainmaker”. It seemed for a good stretch every time we went out it would rain.

These lenses and LED replacements are pressed fit, no mounting screws or holes to mess with. The challenge is getting these suckers to fit in the cutouts.

I made sure to install on each side first in case I had a mishap during the installation.

I’m very satisfied with the look and performance of these LED tail lights. I can’t wait to fire these things up at night for a real street test. (Minus the rain of course).

Heading to Dig D’s CHOPSHOP located at Denair, CA. We are picking up CaDually. David has been performing great work installing a Stone Fabrications Narrow Front Control Suspension kit.

I’ll be bringing my rear spacers to change out. The rear wheels have about a credit card clearance between the outer rim and inner fender well. The plan is to change out the 2.0” spacer for a 1.5” spacer. This should provide 0.5” additional clearance.

Spacers specifications:

2x 1.5″ Thick 8×6.5″(8×165.1mm) Wheel Adapter Spacer Fit Chevy 8Lug 14×1.5 Truck
